"Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall." F. Scott Fitzgerald
I'm a summer forever type of girl, but there is something about October and the crisp weather that has me excited for this seasonal shift. Living in the northeast this time of year is really special and I'm finally ready to embrace it.
While this week feels like an Indian summer, I'm all about the fall things—mums, pumpkin picking, cooking yummy soups and leaf peeping around my little state.
There's been a lot of Friends & Family sales as of late. I scooped up a few things that I'm waiting to arrive, but I'm also really trying to focus on investing in good basics that I can wear year after year. COVID made me look at fashion differently and I'm feeling ready to dress up again. Below, are some of my current favorite pieces that I have my eye on for fall—Chelsea Boots, a good fall jacket (I just got the Madewell one below), a pretty sweater—mostly pieces I'll grab time and time again.
So here's what's on my radar for fall:
- Knitwear—Knits in neutral tones always do it for me. I love cardigans that I can dress up and down, a beautiful knit dress with a pair of boots and sweaters with edgy cutouts for a more stylish take on the everyday knit.
2. Boots—Last year, I purchased a pair of suede Chelsea boots and black combat boots and so happy I did because they are still the it boots for this season, too. This season, I'm eyeing a Chelsea boot in a cream color, crocodile knee high boots and a new pair of western booties that will go with dresses and denim.
3. Denim—Straight leg denim have been my recent favorite and they just work for both day and night so well. Also, I'm all about a good denim dress ( I recently purchased this one) and a jumpsuit that you can wear with sneakers or cute booties.
4. The Fall Jacket: I have an obsession with fall jackets and have a few on my list that I want, but first I have to sell or donate some old ones. You can't go wrong with a good plaid jacket to take you through fall.
5. Ballet Flats: It's time to update my ballet flats. I'm eyeing feminine ones with pretty detail and the Mary Jane/ballerina ones.
