The Three Fragrances I Wear All The Time

It takes me forever to find a fragrance, which is why I don’t often write about it on the blog. I used to wear one or two scents for years without changing it up until I started writing more about the topic.  I met a few people who crafted unique high-end perfume lines and the scents they crafted came from a special place or memory. That got me back into my interest of scents and finding ones that were different and made me feel good.  Scent is personal — what works on one person often does not work on another. They are an investment and some can be expensive, especially the newer more boutique fragrances.  I find that some scents can be overpowering and cloying, and prefer lighter softer scents.  Recently, I found a few new ones that I can’t get enough of. It didn’t happen overnight, but I now have three scents that I use interchangeably.

Here are my three current favorite scents that always turn heads when I’m wearing them:

The one that gets the most compliments: Byredo’s Mojave Ghost

A year ago, I stayed at a girlfriend’s house and she had it on her nightstand. One spray of this scent and I was hooked. It has an unexpected scent and is the one fragrance where I get stopped on the street by people asking “What are you wearing?”  It makes me feel happy when it’s on and is highly addictive. I normally lean towards crisp, light scents, but this one is both sophisticated and sensual with notes of amberette, magnolia, sandalwood, violet and Chantilly musk. It has become my favorite scent for a night out and one that works year round.

The Crowd Pleaser: Carven L’Eau De Toilette

I have been using this fragrance on and off for the past two years.  I used to go to the Nordstrom counter and spray it on every time, but it took me a while before I asked for it as a gift from my husband. This fragrance feels fresh and modern, but also timeless. It has floral notes (sweet pea, hyacinth, peony) cut with lemon, which makes it light and balanced with wood and musk.  I like this one best for daytime or a casual night out.

Fresh and Fruity: Goop Edition 04 – Orchard

The last fragrance has been the one I have been using the most in the summer.   Something about a fruit-forward fragrance intrigued me and I thought it was perfect for summer.  I’ve never purchased a scent without smelling it beforehand, but I was curious about an all-natural fragrance and was looking for something different.  At first, I wasn’t wowed, but it has grown on me over time. This clean fragrance has top notes of apricot, but balanced with grasses, sandalwood and orris root making it fresh and bright. This is a fragrance that works through the crisp days of fall.

What is your go to fragrance? Are you super picky or buy what you like at first smell?  Let me know in the comments.
