How To Get Your Bathroom Organized, The Professional Way

Have you ever worked with a professional organizer before? This was my first experience and can I tell you it has been life changing.

When we finished a master bathroom renovation back in spring of 2020, I said to myself I'm going to keep it neat and tidy. The new bathroom had plenty of drawers for both my husband and I, and lots of space under the sink for all our stuff. Plus, we had a large closet built to store towels, a hamper, extra paper products and everything else. The problem with this beautiful new space was that I wasn't using it to its potential. Everything seemed to just be thrown in a drawer, under the sink or in a closet so it looked clean on the surface, but was disorganized and messy as soon as you opened everything up.

I have always wanted to work with a professional organizer and was beyond excited to work with Stephanie and her team from the Neat Method on my master bathroom. I've watched Stephanie transform so many spaces across Rhode Island and they were always beautiful and practical. The Neat Method helps you declutter and make your space functional and stylish. Exactly, what I needed in my master bathroom.

Honestly, I let things get out of control in the bathroom and knew it was so bad. I thought I would get to it eventually, but blew it off because I did not know where to start. I knew it was time to get in a professional. And, now I feel confident in tackling other projects around the house (there are so many).

Here's how the NEAT Method process works:

  1. Everything comes out of the space you are organizing; nothing should remain.
  2. Clean everything out, wipe everything down
  3. Put everything in categories. For my bathroom, Stephanie and her team sorted items in categories such as blush, lipstick, hair products.
  4. Purge what you don’t want (put in a category then go through). Get rid of those expired products and things you never use.
  5. Space plan and look to to see if it will fit and work well in the desired spot.
  6. Everything staying goes back into a designated area.
  7. Label Everything. I thought I didn't want labels, but they help you put everything back in the same spot every time and look super cute.

The NEAT team primarily used plastic bins in drawers and under the sink, so it will be easy to wipe clean. Especially, important with beauty products. On the day of the appointment, Stephanie brought everything inside and had multiple options to see what would work well in the space. I loved everything she picked.

Some Before and After Pictures:

Now these before pictures are real and messy. I did not tidy them up one bit and definitely let them get out of control because I knew the Neat Method was coming. But still, it was a disaster I absolutely neglected.

AFTER:

I feel like a new person with this new system in place and everything looking so tidy. I'm one happy girl.
