I have been going back and forth about doing a gift guide on the blog this year. At first, I felt like it was too much and unnecessary, but then I thought about it more and how I love recommending gifts to people or telling them places to shop for certain things, so why not have it in a guide to spark inspiration during your shopping experience this holiday season. I prefer to give gifts with intention and purpose rather than just filling space under the tree. As I have gotten older, I also love experiences and always try to do something like that for my boys with a sporting event or a trip. But, no matter what still feels nice to open a gift from family, friends, coworkers or even an aquaintance during the holiday season. The items below are all under $100 and I’ll be adding a few more guides next week that will have a different price point so stay tuned. Let me know what you think in the comment section below.
All Things Cozy:
For the holiday, I love to give and get cozy pieces since winter can be long and drawn out here in New England. Furry slippers are a must and I love some affordable options at LOFT for the ladies on your list. Last year, a similar pair was sold out way before Christmas so grab them when you can. Scarves are always a good idea and versatile, but I love ones that double as wraps when traveling on a plane or on really cold days and add layers of warmth to my neck area. A few of my favorite scarves from years past were all from Zara and I am loving this plaid one and this camel one all for under $40. For the guys, I think a furry pair of slippers are a no-brainer for lazy days at home. Love that these slip on and cover the ankle and have a rugged look. I got my husband a similar ribbed cashmere hat a few years ago for the holidays and he still wears it today. It is well-made, looks chic and is a good price point.
For The Home:
These ceramic family mugs are personalized and so cute to sip a morning cup of joe or hot chocolate. One of our favorite throws in the house is a faux fur one that one of my boys loves to grab when laying on the couch. They’re comfortable and add an extra layer of warmth during the colder months. I love these from west elm that have an ombre fade and add texture to the home. For those that love to cook, a new cookbook is always a great idea. I swear by Alison Roman’s dishes and I am all over her new cookbook Nothing Fancy. I spotted this glass French press at Queen of Hearts and Modern Love in Providence and thought it was such a great gift for the coffee lover and pretty to keep on your kitchen counter, too. And, you can’t go wrong with giving a beautiful candle for the holidays and this one by Byredo is chic, smells like rose, wood and tobacco and will look great in any space.
For The Beauty Lover:
I recently saw one of my best friends while I was visiting NYC and she gave me a sample of this hydrating body lotion in this rich, creamy texture and now I’m totally hooked. It comes in a chic package, works wonders on dry winter skin and leaves the prettiest sheen. They say that most wrinkles over time are caused from friction when we sleep on our sheets so I think a pretty silk pillowcase by Slip would alleviate those just woke up crinkles on the face and feel luxurious, too. I use this natural face oil by LimeLife by Alcone every night and I think works even better than more expensive brands. It has a lovely texture and contains moisture-boosting and soothing ingredients such as palmarose and helichrysum oils to help with inflammation and cell turnover. I love a palette that you will get use out of year round and these pretty hues in this Laura Mercier eyeshaow palette has a mix of great colors that will work for day or night.
For the Kiddos:
I have a bunch of gifts to get for kiddos, ranging from infants to teenagers, and try not to get too many gifts that they’ll just toss aside and forget about. Loving this sparkly lunch box that makes a fashion statement for the girl on your list. For the kiddos who like to put on a performance, this wireless bluetooth handheld microphone will make a ton memories for karaoke night. I’m big on giving little ones arts and crafts and love this LED 3-in-1 easel set for them to get all creative. Star Wars lovers are big in my house and are going to be even more popular when the new movie comes out before xmas. Loving these fun Star Wars socks with characters on them for one of the boys on my list.
