One of my most worn pieces this fall has been an oversized checked blazer. I've worn it during the day as an extra layer over a plain white t-shirt, over a sleeveless knit (another fall fave) and as a jacket for a balmy evening out in both New York City and Nantucket.
Every fall, I go on the hunt for a blazer, sometimes it's successful and other times it's not. It's definitely a piece in your wardrobe that works for many occasions. A lot of blazers I've been seeing are oversized, which is a cool look, but can be challenging when finding the right one. I like the oversized look, but it has to be a slimmer one for my frame. I recommend trying on a few different blazers in store versus online. You can never tell how it's going to look until you put it on.
Some of my favorite blazers are from Madewell, Zara and H&M, so you can always find a stylish one at a good price point. Others are investments, which I may eventually splurge on from Veronica Beard and Theory.
This time of year, with lots of gatherings and parties, I always find a well-fitting blazer to be a good option. It's easy to throw on and works well with sleek dresses, leather pants and a good pair of jeans. Below I share some of current favorites at all price points.
